What now?
Have you had your session, received your gallery and left your photos in limbo on your phone? I’m so guilty of this too! I have only printed two gf my gorgeous wedding images so far and its been nearly a year since the big day! So, to rectify this despicable crime I have committed I have been surfing the web looking for Inspo on what on earth to do with some my favourite images of my own family images and thought i’d share with you what i’ve found.
I have this space in my lounge and it serves no purpose at all so I thought a wall of these would look good together. Best way to create a gallery is to mix it up with a variety of detail/wide shots, and perspectives images that were shot from above the subject too… something like this. Alternatively you could do a monochrome wall in just B+W images! With my sessions I look at the big picture and visualise your session as one big wall displaying all your images so the tones and colours will always compliment each other.
I love the idea of a gallery wall up the stairs? We are currently remodelling the house so our stairs are getting a makeover so this could be a great sight to walk into the house as our stairs are opposite our front door. I like the use of mixed media and including some personal items such as framing our wedding speech or pressed wedding flowers up there too, these frames below are pretty awesome and can display anything! Torn edged prints for that on trend look, ticket stubs form gigs you’ve been too, pressed ferns and flowers.
We have a set of three images of my kids behind the dining table and I love it1 i’m the kinda girl who loves odd numbers so we’ve gone for three shots one of each child in black and white.
Real cheap albums! I have a shelf full of all our days out/seasons/holidays/sessions and the kids just flick through them whenever they like and love seeing all the memories at their fingertips. Every Christmas I treat myself to that years albums to help me stay on top of it.
My Timeless Portrait sessions are perfect for this kind of thing! If you have a long blank wall go big with a series of A1 sized prints of your kids or different parts of their body such as hand, foot, eyelashes… Here’s a series a client commissioned me to do for her new build of her children she has one of those amazing open planned lounge/kitchens and these go right along one wall it looks stunning!.
I’m always so tempted to grab one of these too for my desk, How cute are they and it may even help me stay a bit more organised!
